Play
The fly brain plays a side-scroller.
Play gives the fly brain a side-scrolling jump-and-run. It sees only the screen, never the game state, and presses the buttons of a controller.
Each frame reaches the photoreceptors of the compound eye. The last button press returns to the ascending neurons, and the descending neurons choose one of 12 button combinations, 15 times per second. The state runs on from frame to frame without a reset.
The adapter learns from a teacher that already plays the game. The connectome is not trained yet.
